It’s Great to Be Smart was established in frustration about all the shirts discouraging children, especially girls, from excelling academically. I’d rather encourage children, boys and girls, to excel in school and life.

The focus here will be primarily on math and science. While students absolutely struggle in other subjects, they don’t usually get t-shirts about history being too hard or English being difficult… although with the popularity of texting, I suspect English classes are becoming more difficult for some students.

Obviously, there are no expectations for great societal changes through the sale of these t-shirt designs and other products. It’s just a small statement of frustration I hope others can share.
